AKLA and Kaplan Thompson Architects were engaged to develop comprehensive master plans for four key Maine Audubon sites: Gilsland Farm in Falmouth, Fields Pond in Holden, Scarborough Marsh in Scarborough, and Mast Landing in Freeport. The design team led a series of collaborative charrettes with Maine Audubon leadership and site-specific staff to shape a vision rooted in ecological stewardship, education, and community engagement. These master plans became vital tools in Maine Audubon's fundraising strategy, successfully supporting capital campaigns that enabled the launch of Phase 1 construction at both Gilsland Farm and Fields Pond.
