AKLA worked on a concept design envisioning a small yet impactful park in the heart of Downtown Portland’s business district. Defined by large granite benches and integrated tree grates, the space offers a calm, shaded refuge from the busy urban streetscape. A striking, contemporary sculpture serves as the park’s central placemaking element, anchoring the space. Designed for pause and passing, the park balances urban form and durable elements to create a distinctive and welcoming public space.
