AKLA and KA DesignWorks collaborated on a 45-unit condo development on an extremely steep slope in Mt. Crested Butte, Colorado. The design required a strategic approach to balance accessibility, aesthetics, and functionality. A Woonerf-Style Shared Street integrates pedestrian and vehicular movement using a palette of materials including paving, lighting, benches and native plantings.
