Mollie Aspen is located across the street from Paepcke Park, named for Walter and Elizabeth Paepcke who, in the 1950s, conceptualized the “Aspen Idea” that speaks to the renewal of mind, body and spirit. The visual and contextual proximity of Mollie Aspen to Paepcke Park and the awe-inspiring views of Ajax beckoned the ‘Aspen Idea’ to be the driving force behind the landscape architectural expression and organization. Mollie provides a front row seat to the Aspen Idea quite literally, with functional art known as the “Powder Cloud” bench at the entry, interwoven accessible walkways, outdoor lounge spaces, public streetscape nooks, and an affordable housing arrival garden.
