Ebby Ridge

Set atop a 16-acre mountain parcel in Asheville, North Carolina, this master plan and conceptual design balances development potential with preservation of the site's dramatic topography, panoramic views, and forested character. AKLA was engaged to identify and design two viable buildable lots, establish site access routes, and create an integrated trail network that connects key site features while preserving the natural terrain. The conceptual design phase was a deeply collaborative process with the architect and owner, centering around a bold architectural vision for a cantilevered residence that hovers above the slope to capture long-range mountain vistas. Site design elements include a sculpted arrival court, a secluded pool and spa terrace nested into the hillside, and terraced vegetable gardens that provide seasonal productivity and a strong connection to the land.
