Residential

Aspen, CO

433 Gillespe

Clean lines and a constrained site located within the City of Aspen urban core made for a cohesive, logical, and refined site plan. A linear driveway consisting of a grid of permeable, 2”x2” black granite pavers lead to the garage and front door. Aegean limestone is proposed as the walkway material that circumvents the rectangular building façade. Some of the paving bars are staggered with planted joints in order to blur the lines between walkway and planting. Nano type doors open out onto a small dining terrace which wraps around the building and transitions into an outdoor living nook. The nook is enclosed with fencing, planting, and a green wall adorned with shade loving plants and a contemporary fire feature. Close coordination with the architect and design team as well as the City for permitting and tree mitigation were of utmost importance.
