Residential

Whitehorse

Designed in the 1980s in the style of Ricardo Legorreta, the structure seemed out of place in both context and time. The proposed design had three main goals: open the house to the impressive mountain views, create a stronger connection to its context through materials palette and textures, and enhance the outdoor spaces to increase the effective area of the home. Outdoor features included arrival gate, guest and private auto court, reflective water feature at the main entry, enclosed courtyard with a custom fire feature and water wall, master bedroom rooftop terrace with a custom spa and fire feature, living terrace with a custom fire element, and pool and spa. The landscape was rejuvenated with a native meadow mix, native shrubs, and drifts of aspens and native evergreens.
